Mokusho Abigaëlle Richard bookmarks

(En français plus bas) Jean M. Auel’s “Earth's Children” (6 volumes) is really an entrancing novel about the journey of a young Homo Sapiens female and her contacts with different cultural groups and species. More than its historical accuracy, what charms me in this novel is the well-researched data on the use of plant life and healing, but also the psychological aspects, resilience and inventiveness of the main character Ayla. Mokusho’s purpose for creating art but also paper greeting cards...

Mokusho bookmark

(En français plus bas) “Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light. A Journey of Spirit Retrieval and Awakening” by Niara Terala Isley is an incredibly powerful book where the author shares about her extremely challenging experiences with missing time and abuse while in the USAF. This book is filled with wisdom, resilience, truth about what has been hidden from the public eye, and it is also a fascinating account of the author’s healing and spiritual journey. Mokusho’s purpose for creating art...

19686z_055_Québec

(En français plus bas) Today my dad and I will go listen to the choir my mum was singing in for many years, and we will have a supper in her honor with things she used to love. It is a way to honor her soul that passed on last February. Here are shots of my mum from 1968 who loved singing more than anything in the world!

Snowstorm over Montreal

(En français plus bas) This morning magic happened over Montreal, after weeks of waiting for a real snowstorm. It brought so much solace to my heart, as beauty and calmness always does. My daily walk by the St-Lawrence River in Verdun was a real treat. I’m in such gratitude!

"Shandora" by Elena Danaan

(En français plus bas) The amazing trilogy “Shandora” by Elena Danaan is a beautiful elvish fantasy saga written in French that takes place in16th century France. It reunites humans and elves through a common destiny. I adored this trilogy and could not put the books down! Elena Danaan is an amazing writer and researcher!

Mokusho in the countryside

(En français plus bas) Sometimes we all need to extract ourselves form our routine to view our life with more perspective. Spending a couple days with my family in the countryside did just that for me. We had the first snow of the season when we got up in the morning. Such magical beauty to watch while sipping tea and chat! I come back re-energized and full of projects!

Tony Rodriques Ceres Colony Cavalier

(En français plus bas) “Ceres Colony Cavalier” by Tony Rodrigues is a powerful book that enlightens us about the realities of the SSP program and the immense challenges that the author has gone through in true resilience. A heart wrenching but authentic look at what has been hidden in this world for too many years. Tony is an amazing soul and man, and his benevolence and kindness honor him, despite the journey he has been through. "Ceres Colony Cavalier" de Tony Rodrigues est un livre puis...

Mokusho ceramics training

(En français plus bas) After the turning of the pots, it was time to reflect on decor. I decided to use the “mishima” technique on 2 of them, where you engrave a pattern in the leather hard clay and then fill the engraved motif with an engobe or colored slip. The excess is then wiped out to leave only colored slip within the engraved parts. On the right, a technique I used in 2018 on one of my other first training pieces.

Mokusho and Christian Bobin

(En français plus bas) Christian Bobin is my favorite author of all times, for the minimalist and absolute beauty of his poetic prose. Bobin’s writings are absolute jewels! His texts are like the work of a goldsmith. His love for simplicity, nature and silence; his raw authentic way of describing the magic of human experience is unique, profound and it touches the soul deeply.

Mokusho ceramics

(En français plus bas) In my other weekly class, I had the opportunity to experience the turning of pieces in a mid-red clay, that offers a more organic interesting look. Tougher to work with, since the inclusions found in it tend to scrape the hands when you turn it. I can’t wait to decorate this with a complementary sage-green glaze.

Mokusho ceramics

(En français plus bas) Final class of my 1st weekly course. All the pieces have been underglazed or just glazed. Not much visible there, since glaze, before it is fired, will just look different (often paler) than from the saturated color it will have in the end. I will be able to share each piece individually in 3 weeks from now! Can’t wait to see what it will look like!

(En français plus bas) Since I was a child, I’ve always been fascinated by the Sidhe, also called Telosii. In the book “Conversations with the Sidhe”, David Spangler shares his encounters and transmissions with one of them. A most fascinating book! One of Mokusho’s purpose for creating physical greeting cards and bookmarks is to encourage a grounded physical link with objects. Writing your own words, feeling the texture of the paper, offering it, sharing it, framing it if you wish and use...

(En français plus bas) Here are the pieces from my second weekly course that I turned the best I could, to create a footing and make the surface more regular. The next step will be underglaze deco and glazing.

Mokusho's decoration with underglaze

We spent the last two courses turning (tournasser in French) the leather hard pots and also started applying underglaze decorations on the leather textured and bisqued (biscuité) ones. Next week will be glazing (the final step!) 🎨 ☕ 🍵

Mokusho's favorite books

With the amazing conference coming up, I want to offer gratitude to archaeologist and contactee Elena Danaan for this amazing, life-changing book. We are really heading towards a new world and this book really reminds us of our real lost history: Elena Danaan “The Seeders”. 🌍💙 One of Mokusho’s purpose for creating physical greeting cards and bookmarks is to encourage a grounded physical link with objects. Writing your own words, feeling the texture of the paper, offering it, sharing it...

Mokusho's children book illustration

I had the opportunity to illustrate a children’s book for my good friend Kay. It was fun discovering Canva and play with its free graphics. More than anything, Kay had the opportunity to realize one of her dreams to have that story she wrote finally illustrated and printed for gifts. A fun and stimulating collaboration! 👧📕

Mokusho's dual production

If ceramics classes keep me busy, I continue creating sets of Chiyogami paper handmade greeting cards and assorted bookmarks. As a Gemini (always needing diversity), the two crafts complement each other and keep me stimulated. Following my bliss is how I would describe my life right now! 🎨 🥣

Mokusho's favorite season

I enjoy every second of my favorite season and its colors with a walk in the leaves and choosing the prettiest ones for creative projects and pleasure of the eyes. For lunch, I enjoy my homemade creamy butternut squash soup with a teapot of chaï. Leben ist schön! 🍂 🍁 🥣

Mokusho's biscuit/bisque ready for glaze

Now that the pots have gone through a first firing in the kiln, they are in the state called “biscuit”. They are ready to receive decorative glazes. I have more than a week now to think about unique decors for each of these pieces. 🎨 ☕ 🍵

Mokusho healing

After almost a week in bed with my body aching on every inch, I’m finally emerging from a long healing, cleansing, releasing process of old patterns, programming, pains and old trauma. Starting with a clean slate, in mindfulness, calm and presence to the body in authenticity, joy and with a little magic back into my life. A process, not a destination🌳💫

Inspiration for future ceramics

Beauty is everywhere when we stop and take time to observe. This nude tree trunk (its bark was burned) offers an amazing play of terracotta shades which can be an inspiration for future ceramics decor! 😍 🤔 🍵

Mokusho's bookmarks and favorite books

For me, this is the only book that really translates what real love between two people is all about: François Cheng’s “L’éternité n’est pas de trop” One of Mokusho’s purpose for creating physical greeting cards and bookmarks is to encourage a grounded physical link with objects. Writing your own words, feeling the texture of the paper, offering it, sharing it, framing it if you wish and use the bookmark in the act reading physical books. An experience of the senses, a sensual return to the live

Mokusho's ceramics training

Yesterday, Mokusho started her 2nd class of pottery/ceramics per week, this time with the wonderful Gaële Dufaux-Mathieu @gaeleceramiste. Gaële is a wonderful teacher, an amazing ceramist and person. Her courses are great and the atmosphere in the workshop is warm and friendly! I try to engage in this process as much as possible with all my time, energy and passion. 🍵 🫖

Mokusho's ceramic training

It’s all about learning, right? My first wheel-turned pots after a 2-year break. 🤔 Learning how to wrap the plastic right not to squish the lips of your pots during drying is one of the many things I had to learn the hard way 😅🤣 Reminding myself: It’s a process not a destination! 🍵 🫖

Mokusho's time off and guidance

These days, feeling quite exhausted I took a little break to take care of myself. When I asked my inner guidance for a sign of what I needed to focus on the most today, here is what life answered! Guidance comes in unexpected and surprising ways. Messages are all over the little things of daily life as well! Let’s keep are eyes and heart always opened for these gifts 😍❤️

Mokusho's ceramics training with potter/ceramist Gaële Dufaux-Mathieu

Wonderful news! Mokusho’s ceramics training is being enriched with a second complementary course each week, this time with the amazing potter/ceramist Gaële Dufaux-Mathieu @gaeleceramiste. I had visited her workshop in 2020 and always wanted to train with her. A great artists and beautiful human being! I’m starting September 26th! Yay! 🌍 🎨 🍵 🫖😍 This is a sample of her beautiful creations from her “Boreal” collection!
